You can sell the shares in your home at any point, you just need to let us know. We'll then need a valuation to determine the current market value.  

We’ll try and find a buyer for your share within 8 weeks. This is to help us find a suitable buyer who also wants to use shared ownership. 

If we don't find a buyer within 8 weeks, you’ll be able to market your home with an agent of your choice. 

Service charges cover the general maintenance costs of developments, such as the upkeep of communal areas, communal gardening, and window cleaning (this applies to apartment buildings). They vary from development to development. 

You can paint and decorate the interior of your home. However, if you want to carry out any structural changes you’ll need written permission from us as your landlord (unless you own 100% shares). You may also need to obtain planning permission.

This is specific to houses and apartments. Our sales team can advise on individual developments or homes. 

If you're not a UK citizen, but can prove three years address history, or have The Right to Remain, you're eligible to apply for shared ownership.  

If you don't have permanent rights to remain in the UK, to apply for a mortgage, you'll need to demonstrate either of the following:

• That you've got at least two years remaining on your visa and have a deposit of 25% of the share you wish to buy.
• That you've got three years remaining on your visa and a 20% deposit of the share.

If you're able to get a mortgage on the above criteria, you may be able to buy with shared ownership. This will be subject to the usual financial assessment and eligibility criteria that apply to everyone.

Yes, but within reason and you will need to request permission from us. 

Yes, you can pass on the lease in your will or in the law of intestacy (this means dying without making a will). If you hold a joint tenancy, the lease will automatically pass to the surviving party.
